Just think, the GOP could've had a bipartisan commission w/veto powers over subpoenas and an end date of December 31, 2021.

Now they're staring down the barrel of a commission w/subpoena power they can’t block, that will take however long it will take, even into the midterms.

COVID[edit | edit source]

Masks[edit | edit source]

Because the Moderna vaccine is not 100% effective (only 94.1%).

Not willing to needlessly bet my life (or the lives of others) when the painless act of putting some fabric over my mouth and nose will reduce the risk to myself and others.

I'm vaccinated but the Moderna vaccine is not 100% effective (only 94.1%) so I will still wear my mask.

Not willing to needlessly bet my life (or the lives of others) when the painless act of putting some fabric over my mouth and nose will further reduce the risk to myself and others.

In many Asian countries wearing a mask in public for public health reasons is commonplace.

Why do others behaving responsibly by wearing a mask upset you?

Do you get this upset when people wear pants (covering their crotch with fabric) in public?

When there is global herd immunity so that no further major variants can form and spread. But also, masks are great for your upper respiratory health all of the time, and reduce transmission of cold and flu viruses and reduces the impact of seasonal allergies.

Does other people covering the crotch with cloth (i.e. wearing pants) upset you this much as well?

Vaccines[edit | edit source]

You realize the Pfizer didn't even participate in "warp speed", which was basically throwing our money at pharmaceutical companies that were already going to be developing a vaccine because an effective one they come up with has an already huge global market for it, yes?

Also doesn't get credit for the vaccine itself. Pfizer didn't participate in "warp speed" which was basically throwing our money at pharmaceutical companies that were already developing a vaccine because any effective one they create already has a massive global market for it.

Biden said the goal get 100 million shots in people’s arms in his first hundred days in office back on Dec. 8 2020, before ANY vaccines were even approved for use yet, you disingenuous ass. https://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2020-12-08/biden-outlines-covid-19-vaccine-goal-100-million-shots-in-100-days

Once everyone has access to the vaccine and everyone that wants them gets them, I'm all for Trump voters refusing to get vaccinated. In fact I hope they go around coughing on each other and their families.

That may sound hateful, but they are actively dangerous to America.

Gun Control[edit | edit source]

Another proud moment brought to you by the NRA and the GOP.

Easy access to firearms thanks to the NRA and GOP have everything to do with this, and every other shooting.

Dummy.

The "good guy with a gun" got killed because of that NRA myth.

Which is why the entire automotive and transportation industry and system is highly regulated. We have:

  • mandatory training;
  • scheduled testing;
  • licensing;

  • registration;

  • liability insurance;
  • safety and environmental testing and certification;

  • widespread local law enforcement;

  • age, physical, mental restrictions in place;

For just the operation of cars.

To say nothing of the trillions invested in public infrastructure and safety standards and regulations about the construction of motor vehicles and the systems that support the use thereof—for the goal of safer use of things (cars) which have by orders of magnitude (multiple orders of magnitude I would add) more use in our society than things which have zero purpose other than shredding human lives (guns). Furthermore, violating some of the above laws and regulations for say, drunk driving also has an escalating set of penalties which can include:

  • Jail time;

  • License suspensions;

  • Mandatory training classes;

  • Mandatory intervention classes;

  • Interlock devices;
  • Special license plates that ID repeat offenders;

  • Lifetime license revocation for repeat offenders;
  • Punitive fees;
  • Random sobriety tests;

  • Property confiscation;

  • Wage garnishment;

  • Probation;

  • Prison time;

But we must stop all that because having regulated automobiles, or mandatory background checks and registration of firearms will inevitably lead to a repeat of Stalinist purges or the Holocaust!

Columbus Shooting - Ma’Khia Bryant[edit | edit source]

She tried to stab 2 girls as the officers arrived—knocking one down and was in the process of trying to stab one of them with a knife when she was shot.

Not all officer-involved shootings are wrongful use of force. In this case the cop saved the life of 1 possibly 2 girls.

While there are problems of systemic racism in policing & often police are way too quick to use deadly force, after seeing the just-released body-cam video it's apparent the cop saved the life of 1—possibly 2—girls who were about to be stabbed by Bryant, just as they arrived.

Racism[edit | edit source]

Desegregation in the Military[edit | edit source]

Leave it to two white guys to agree the US military has been a color blind culture for the past 200 years.. (except that it did not integrate until 1948)…

Critical Race Theory[edit | edit source]

The irony of white supremacist clowns like DeSantos screaming to ban the teaching of "critical race theory" in schools is, these calls for banning "critical race theory" demonstrate precisely the need to actually teach "critical race theory".

Police Reform[edit | edit source]

If you have 12 bad cops and 1,300 good cops but those 1,300 good cops don't turn in the 12 bad cops, you have 1,312 bad cops.

George Floyd / Chauvin trial[edit | edit source]

With Chauvin being found guilty, I hope he never breaths another breath of free air again.

I also hope these guilty verdicts factor in heavily against the 3 cops who stood by while Chauvin murdered George Floyd when their trials start next month.

We still have a long way to go.

Reminder, long before the trial started, Chauvin tried to get a plea deal where he admitted his guilt, which was rejected by Barr's DOJ.

22.5 years is in the middle of the sentencing guidelines for 2nd degree murder with aggravated circumstances, and abuse of authority.

It also basically slams the door shut on any possibility of a successful appeal by Chauvin over prejudicial sentencing.

SCOTUS[edit | edit source]

Court Expansion[edit | edit source]

Why was the SCOTUS changed to 9 justices in 1869?

What's magical about 9?

Why not 11?

Why not 7?

It's because in 1869 there were 9 Fed. appellate circuits.

Today there's 13 circuits (12 regional + Fed. Circuit Court of Appeals).

Expand the court. https://pic.twitter.com/MIoU6XMfFW

Since 1789, Congress changed the maximum number of Justices on the Court multiple times. In 1801, President John Adams and a lame-duck Federalist Congress passed the Judiciary Act of 1801, which reduced the Court to five Justices in an attempt to limit incoming President Thomas Jefferson’s appointments to the high bench. Jefferson and his Republicans soon repealed that act, putting the Court back to six Justices. And in 1807, Jefferson and Congress added a seventh Justice when it added a seventh federal court circuit.

In early 1837, President Andrew Jackson was able to add two additional Justices after Congress again expanded the number of federal circuit court districts. Under different circumstances, Congress created a 10th circuit in 1863 during the Civil War, and it briefly had a 10th Supreme Court Justice. However, Congress after the war passed legislation in 1866 to reduce the Court to seven Justices. That only lasted until 1869, when a new Judiciary Act sponsored by Senator Lyman Trumbull set the number back to nine Justices, with six Justices required at a sitting to form a quorum. President Ulysses S. Grant eventually signed that legislation and nominated William Strong and Joseph Bradley to the newly restored seats.

COVID[edit | edit source]

“Leadership: Whatever happens, you're responsible” – Donald Trump, November 8, 2013

Disbanded the pandemic response team, had an early CDC report suppressed that laid out strategy, never coordinated a federal response, pitched dangerous “cures”... the list goes on.

"You know, in April, supposedly, it dies with the hotter weather. And that's a beautiful date to look forward to" – Donald Trump, February 10, 2020

"And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done," – Donald Trump, February 26, 2020

"We are in very close communication with China concerning the virus. Very few cases reported in USA, but strongly on watch. We have offered China and President Xi any help that is necessary. Our experts are extraordinary!" – Donald Trump, Jan. 27, 2020

"Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He's strong, sharp & powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days." – Trump, Feb 7, 2020

"Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days. Nothing is easy, but..." – Donald Trump, February 7, 2020

"....he will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone. Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!" – Donald Trump, February 7, 2020

"China is very professionally run in the sense that they have everything under control....we just sent some of our best people over there, World Health Organization and a lot of them are composed of our people. They're fantastic." – Donald Trump, February 10, 2020

"The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!" – Donald Trump, February 24, 2020

"CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus, including the very early closing of our borders to certain areas of the world. It was opposed by the Dems, “too soon”, but turned out to be the correct decision. No matter how well we do, however, the....." – Donald Trump, February 25, 2020

"....Democrats talking point is that we are doing badly. If the virus disappeared tomorrow, they would say we did a really poor, and even incompetent, job. Not fair, but it is what it is. So far, by the way, we have not had one death. Let’s keep it that way!" – Donald Trump, February 25, 2020

“China is working very, very hard. I have spoken to President Xi, and they’re working very hard. And if you know anything about him, I think he’ll be in pretty good shape. They’re — they’ve had a rough patch, and I think right now they have it — it looks like they’re getting it under control more and more. They’re getting it more and more under control.” – Donald Trump, February 26, 2020 (not twitter)

"Low Ratings Fake News MSDNC (Comcast) & @CNN are doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible. Likewise their incompetent Do Nothing Democrat comrades are all talk, no action. USA in great shape! @CDCgov" – Donald Trump, February 26, 2020

"So, the Coronavirus, which started in China and spread to various countries throughout the world, but very slowly in the U.S. because President Trump closed our border, and ended flights, VERY EARLY, is now being blamed, by the Do Nothing Democrats, to be the fault of “Trump”." – Donald Trump, February 27, 2020

"Congratulations and thank you to our great Vice President & all of the many professionals doing such a fine job at CDC & all other agencies on the Coronavirus situation. Only a very small number in U.S., & China numbers look to be going down. All countries working well together!" – Donald Trump, February 27, 2020

"“Diagnosis positive: @CNN is infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome. I’m calling out CNN for irresponsibly politicizing what should be a unifying battle against a virus that doesn’t choose sides.” @trish_regan @FoxNews Like I say, they are Fake News!" – Donald Trump, February 27, 2020

“Anti-Trump Network @CNN doing whatever it can to stoke a national Coronavirus panic. The far left Network pretty much ignoring anyone who they interview who doesn’t blame President Trump.” @trish_regan @FoxNews Media refuses to discuss the great job our professionals are doing!" – Donald Trump, February 27, 2020

"I will be having a 1:30 P.M. Press Conference at the White House to discuss the latest CoronaVirus developments. Thank you!" – Donald Trump, February 29, 2020

"I was criticized by the Democrats when I closed the Country down to China many weeks ahead of what almost everyone recommended. Saved many lives. Dems were working the Impeachment Hoax. They didn’t have a clue! Now they are fear mongering. Be calm & vigilant!" – Donald Trump, March 2, 2020

"With approximately 100,000 CoronaVirus cases worldwide, and 3,280 deaths, the United States, because of quick action on closing our borders, has, as of now, only 129 cases (40 Americans brought in) and 11 deaths. We are working very hard to keep these numbers as low as possible!" – Donald Trump, March 5, 2020

"I NEVER said people that are feeling sick should go to work. This is just more Fake News and disinformation put out by the Democrats, in particular MSDNC. Comcast covers the CoronaVirus situation horribly, only looking to do harm to the incredible & successful effort being made!" – Donald Trump, March 5, 2020

"There are no mixed messages, only political weaponization by people like you and your brother, Fredo!" – Donald Trump, March 8, 2020

"The BEST decision made was the toughest of them all - which saved many lives. Our VERY early decision to stop travel to and from certain parts of the world!" – Donald Trump, March 9, 2020

"Great job being done by the @VP and the CoronaVirus Task Force. Thank you!" – Donald Trump, March 9, 2020

"The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant. Surgeon General, “The risk is low to the average American.”" – Donald Trump, March 9, 2020

"Our CoronaVirus Team has been doing a great job. Even Democrat governors have been VERY complimentary!" – Donald Trump, March 10, 2020

"True, with number 1 being more important!

Jose Deynes @josedeynes · Mar 8 The President has a duty to protect the American people from two equally dangerous threats: 1)the coronavirus and 2)the mass hysteria that MSM wants to create with the sole purpose of politically hurting the President. " – Donald Trump, March 10, 2020

"I want to thank all of our Great Government officials on the CoronaVirus Task Force who are working around the clock, in response to the CoronaVirus. Continue to check http://CDC.gov for updates, and follow all recommendations that are available...." – Donald Trump, [https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1237820042735226887?s=2 March 11, 2020 0]

....We have the greatest healthcare system, experts, scientists and doctors anywhere in the world. Together, we will PREVAIL!" – Donald Trump, March 11, 2020

"I will be addressing the Nation this evening at 9:00 P.M. (Eastern) from the Oval Office." – Donald Trump, March 11, 2020

"Vanity Fair Magazine, which will soon be out of business, and their third rate Fake reporters, who make up sources which don’t exist, wrote yet another phony & boring hit piece. The facts are just the opposite. Our team is doing a great job with CoronaVirus!" – Donald Trump, March 11, 2020

"Sleepy Joe Biden was in charge of the H1N1 Swine Flu epidemic which killed thousands of people. The response was one of the worst on record. Our response is one of the best, with fast action of border closings & a 78% Approval Rating, the highest on record. His was lowest!" – Donald Trump, March 12, 2020

"Just had a great conversation with Prime Minister Abe of Japan. I told him that the just completed Olympic venue is magnificent. He has done an incredible job, one that will make him very proud. Good things will happen for Japan and their great Prime Minister. Lots of options!" – Donald Trump, March 12, 2020

"“The Obama White House had to immediately issue an apology for Joe Biden’s remarks, and any alarm that he might have caused, an alarm about a Swine Flu outbreak that took 6 months for President Obama to declare a National Emergency, and that killed 12,000 Americans.” @LouDobbs" – Donald Trump, March 12, 2020

"For decades the @CDCgov looked at, and studied, its testing system, but did nothing about it. It would always be inadequate and slow for a large scale pandemic, but a pandemic would never happen, they hoped. President Obama made changes that only complicated things further....."

".... Their response to H1N1 Swine Flu was a full scale disaster, with thousands dying, and nothing meaningful done to fix the testing problem, until now. The changes have been made and testing will soon happen on a very large scale basis. All Red Tape has been cut, ready to go!" – Donald Trump, March 13, 2020

"To this point, and because we have had a very strong border policy, we have had 40 deaths related to CoronaVirus. If we had weak or open borders, that number would be many times higher!" – Donald Trump, March 13, 2020

Woke[edit | edit source]

If it is “woke” to push back against racism, sexism, ignorance, lies, and autocracy as well as to demand equality for all and equal justice, then proudly count me as woke.
