Template:Sf-encyc
Usage[edit source]
This template is used to link to the SF-Encyclopedia website entries for authors, movies, etc. An initial variable is required giving the end path to the article in question, and a second variable can be used to alter the linking text. The "end path" to the article is the portion of text in the URL following "entry/".
If no initial variable is given, the link will go to the main SF-Encyclopedia.com webpage, such as:
{{sf-encyc}}
Which would produce:
For example, to link to Theodore Sturgeon's SF-Encyclopedia.com article, a page would have a template call such as:
{{sf-encyc|sturgeon_theodore}}
This would produce:
If other link text is desired, such as "Ted Sturgeon", the following format should be used:
{{sf-encyc|sturgeon_theodore|Ted Sturgeon}}
This would produce:
A third parameter can be passed to change the path from the standard "entry" path used on SF-Encyclopedia.com for links to interviews or other such news articles:
{{sf-encyc|terry-pratchett-(1948-2015)|Terry Pratchett obituary|news}}
