1⁄2
Usage[edit source]
The templates {{1/2}}, {{1/3}}, {{2/3}}, {{1/4}} and {{3/4}} use HTML markup to create large, readable, common fractions "1⁄2, 1⁄3, 2⁄3, 1⁄4, 3⁄4", as opposed to the often illegible "½, ⅓, ⅔, ¼, ¾" or horizontal "1/2, 1/3, 2/3, 1/4, 3/4". They are intended as concise, easily interpreted alternatives to {{frac|1|2}}, {{frac|1|3}}, {{frac|2|3}}, {{frac|1|4}}, {{frac|3|4}}
.
Bake for {{1/2}} hour.
generates:
- Bake for 1⁄2 hour.
without requiring the use of bulky HTML markup.
Please note that these templates do not handle preceding integers (or succeeding units) and the spacing in between, use {{frac}} for that:
Bake for {{frac|2|1|2}} hours.
- Bake for 2 1⁄2 hours.
