The milli-electronvolt, abbreviated meV, is is a unit of energy equal to 1/1000 of an electronvolt. When used as a unit of energy, it is one thousandth of the total numerical value of the change in energy by moving a single electron across an electric potential difference of one volt. 1 milli-electronvolt volts (meV) = 0.001602176565 x 10-16 joules (J).
